NOTARY TRAINING
Plan to get this done in one day after getting access to the online class.
STEPS
1.
GET SIGNED UP FOR TRAINING
Send an email to Alejandro at with office + email + name + shipping address (stamp will be mailed there) of the person interested in becoming a notary.
MAKE SURE APPLICANT IS:
- At least 18

Citizen or legal resident
-
Be a resident of Colorado or have a place of employment in Colorado
-
Understand English, duh
-
Not have a past felony
-
Not misdemeanor involving dishonesty, a finding of fraud, or deceit
-
Not have a commission from another state revoked
2.
START TRAINING ASAP
It usually takes 24 hrs for the license to be issued. Once you receive a login email from Andrew (andrew@coloradonotarysolutions.com) start your training.
Usually, your login is:
USERNAME: your email address
PASSWORD: 12345
Save 2 hrs for watching the training and finishing the quiz. Once this is done download from the Colorado Notary Solutions a certificate of completion (save it). HERE some notes from the video.
3.
Download this form and have it notarized. Scan the document and save it to your files (at the end we will have to upload all this documents to the SOS website)
4.
TAKE THE TEST
Once you passed the training (which includes a quiz), go to THIS website and REGISTER to take the test. Take the test, it is open book, so feel free to look things up. Use common sense, it's pretty easy.
5.
DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE (test)
Once you finished and passed the SOS test. Download your certificate of passing the test. Gather all the documents together for easy access.
6.
IDENTIFICATION
Take a photo (must be low resolution) of your ID. If you have questions about this, HERE info.
Copy of both sides. Make sure that the information on your ID is legible, and that the scan is right-side up.
If you have a Colorado issued Part 5 ID card or an out of state driver’s license that is invalid for identification or federal purposes, you must also include a copy of your lawful presence documentation as listed in #3.
7.
GATHER DOCUMENTS
Make sure you have the following documents:
1. Certificate of Training Completion (from Colorado Notary Solutions) with your name on it. If your name isn't on it, email Ale and Andrew (see step 1)
2. Affirmation Notarized (see step 3)
3. Certificate of Passed test (from SOS) (see step
4. Photo or scan of your ID (see step 6)

WAIT FOR SOS TO CHECK ON DOCS
Once you receive confirmation all is done and approved. You will get an email confirming this, and telling you when YOUR COMMISSION EXPIRES. Email this information to and

GET CONFIRMATION THAT STAMP HAS BEEN ORDERED
Email that stamp was ordered, and ask for tracking info (Andrew provides it in some cases). Your stamp will be sent to the address you provided in step 1.
10.
GET STAMP + NOTARY JOURNAL = Start!

If you email this information immediately to BOTH, your stamp can be made faster. Note that stamps are only made on weekdays, and weekends delay shipments.
